Embers Experience teaches LCC Middle Schoolers about community leadership

The Embers Experience

COLERIDGE — Local Middle School students are learning to be community leaders.

“I feel the activities the Student Council organizes can help people realize we can be leaders in our community,” said Jayden Campbell.

Campbell is co-chair, along with Lilyan Fox, of what the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School Student Council affectionately refers to as the “Embers Experience.”

The Embers Experience was recently launched with all the fifth and sixth grade Student Council members traveling to the Embers Assisted Living in Coleridge.  The Embers currently has 14 residents.

“We decided it would be nice to come and visit, to get to know the community members better,” said Fox.
