County officials say people are still driving on closed roads
HARTINGTON — Cedar County Commissioners said at their May 14 meeting that people are still driving on roads that have been closed by county officials.
The March floods damaged several Cedar County roads, culverts and bridges. Repair work has been going on ever since the floods, but the work has been slowed by wet weather.
Commissioners said several road closure and local traffic only signs have been destroyed or damaged as people have ignored the signs and proceeded on the roads with cars, trucks and farm equipment despite the caution signs.
Some new signs will need to be acquired to replace the damaged ones.
