Coleridge voters approve sales tax

COLERIDGE — A new sales tax here will help make community improvements. Nearly 59 percent of Coleridge Village residents favored a sales tax proposal at last Tuesday’s General Election. The paper work will now be submitted to the state before sales tax will be able to be collected here. Coleridge was one of two Cedar County communities to vote Tuesday to put sales tax in place. In Laurel, 71 percent of the voters decided to put a sales tax in place. Gragert earned 7,181 votes, while challenger Keith Kube of Crofton garnered 6,738 votes.
