Knox County Supervisors look at permits, appoint Extension Bd. members

CENTER — Knox County Supervisors made two appointments, reviewed the permit report submitted by the Zoning Administrator and were given an update on the County Road Dept. during the Jan. 26 meeting.
The Knox County Road Department has been very busy clearing off the roads after the snow that hit the area Jan. 24 and 25, according to Highway Supt. Kevin Barta.
“The road crew was out on Wednesday and Thursday,” Barta said. “It was a mess. There were not a lot of big drifts – there was just snow everywhere.”
The Sterling gravel truck from the Center Yard was involved in an accident on the icy roads about one mile east and three miles south of Crofton.
“The insurance will take a look at the truck but it will probably be totaled out,” Barta said. “The truck went over on its side on the icy roads. The driver did have some injuries.”
Repairs that need to be done on the Cat motor grader in District Two will be done by the county mechanic.
