Lady Vikes

OMAHA - The Wausa Lady Vikings went down to the State Track and Field Championships in Omaha this weekend and finished with two team points. Ruth Johnson was the lone medalist for Wausa, finishing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 16’. Johnson also ran in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 20th place with a time of 28.16 Paige Nissen also ran in the 200 meter dash. She finished in 16th place, running a 27.58. Four girls also made it down as part of the 3200 meter relay team. Esther Nelson, Melanie Vanness,

Hannah Hubers, and Ann Woockman came in 15th place, running an 11:09.72. Wausa will bring back all of the girls that competed at State, with Nissen and Johnson currently being juniors, and Nelson, Vanness, Hubers, and Woockman all being sophomores.
