Wausa School Board hires new teachers

WAUSA — Two new teachers have been hired for the 2017-18 school year and Calculus classes will soon be part of the curriculum at the Wausa School.
Both of these teachers have master degrees and have the capability to teach dual credit courses which includes credits for college according to Supt. Brad Hoesing.
“Our duel credit offering will be increasing this next school year,” he said.
Kim Ocampo will be teaching high school math at the Wausa School in the fall.
Ocampo, who is from Laurel, has 12  years of teaching experience.
“I am excited about this,” Hoesing said.
The new eighth through twelfth grade science teacher will be Shelly Avery.
She is currently teaching at Santee and also has experience teaching at the community college level.
