Wausa area had plenty of moisture in 2016

WAUSA — Last year will go down — as a whole — as an average year in Knox County.
This area received above average moisture, and above average temperatures in 2016, but nothing was so out of the ordinary as to be considered record-breaking.
An average year is actually a welcome sign here as both 2012 and 2013 were record-breakers.
According to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Regional Climate Center data, the Wausa area had a record amount of precipitation in 2013 with 35.25 inches of precipitation falling here. The rains of 2013 snapped a bad drought of 2012. In fact, 2012 set a record for the least amount of precipitation here as only 12.59 inches of precip were recorded in this area that year.
