Wausa School Board hires three new teachers

WAUSA — The Wausa School Board gave its approval Monday to bring three new teachers into the Wausa School system.
Brandon Kirby has been hired as a 9-12 social studies teacher for the 2017-18 school year. Kirby formerly taught here, and wants to return.
A husband and wife team were also hired.
Tim Schindler will be a K-12 physical education teacher, and his wife Jennifer Schindler will be a 5-8 science and math teacher starting in the fall.
The Schindlers taught at the Newcastle School District for years before the Newcastle merger with Hartington. After that transition, Jennifer Schindler began teaching at Santee, and Tim Schindler taught at Ponca. They began searching for another community similar in size to Newcastle, and thought Wausa would be a good fit for them.
The Schindlers have three kids that they will be bringing into the district.
