Raises for County workers to be part of new budget

CENTER — Knox County Supervisors were hesitant, but did agree to provide for raises to be given to county employees for the year 2018.
Board members talked to other county officials about possible options before making the decision.

A long discussion was then held before an agreement was reached by the County Supervisors.
Supervisor Kevin Mackeprang wanted to try and keep the county budget down as much as possible.
“The only place the county gets money is from property taxes. We don’t get money from a sales tax – it is from property taxes,” Mackeprang said.
