One Act gearing up for State run

WAUSA — The Wausa Play Production team is working hard for a great performance season this year.

This year’s group of 65 student performers and crew are performing the play “OZ,” a dark takeoff of the classic story.

“The play features some dark twists and turns, along with comedy. The characters are totally unique from the original story, as well as the ending, which has its own unique twist.” said Brad Hoesing, Wausa’s principal and one of the directors of the play.

“We are very deep in talent, with some great leadership in our senior class, and we are very excited about this year’s production. If we keep progressing in our practices like we should, it will end up being one of the school’s best plays that we have ever put on.” He added.

The performers of Oz will kick off the year with their annual Pop, Popcorn, and a Play Nov. 16, at 7 p.m., then hosting the annual Swedish One Act Festival the Nov. 19, before heading off to Conference competition at Wayne State College, Nov. 25.

Finally, the cast and crew of OZ will be competing at home Monday, Dec. 2, for the D1-3 District Championship.

If Wausa wins the District, then its on for State Competition in Norfolk, Dec. 11.

Come on out and support the Wausa Play Production team as they compete!
