Library garden conserves water

Kelly Feehan, UNL Extension, Columbus; Katie Pekarek, UNL Extension, DEQ; Stephanie Butler, Bazile Creek Graund Water Management Area Project; Brian Bruckner, Lower Elkhorn NRD; and Marcia Hart, Upper Elkhorn NRD came together in Wausa to install a rain garden at the library.

WAUSA — Representatives from several area agencies were on hand Tuesday morning installing a rain garden.
Stephanie Butler from the Bazile Creek Ground Water Management Area Project and the NRD was the creative catalyst for the project.

“We assist with water conservation and water management in ag settings and urban settings.  This would be an urban demonstration site,” said Butler.
