Knox County hasn’t seen many valuation protests, yet

CENTER — Very few valuation protests have been filed at the Knox County Assessor’s Office. The deadline to file a protest is coming up in less than two weeks.
Only two valuation protests, out of the close to 7,475 valuation notices that had been mailed out to property owners, had been filed as of Friday, June 16.
Of the two protests that have been filed one is for an acreage and the other is on Ag land.
Notices, which had been mailed out before June 1, included any change in valuation – an increase or a decrease according to Knox County Assessor Monica McManigal.
