County Weed Supt. is praised for exceptional work

CENTER — Steve Banks, who is in his fourth year as the Knox County Weed Supt., earned high marks from the Nebraska Dept. of Agriculture.
Dave Boschutt, Ag. Inspection Specialist with the Nebraska Dept of Agriculture, spoke to the Supervisors during the Knox County meeting on Sept 14.
Boschutt has been doing inspections on the control of noxious weeds and doing an officer valuation on county weed superintendents.
“I cover 26 counties across the state. I meet with the County Weed Superintendents and look at the reports, activity, infestation, control plan and budget,” Boschutt said. “Weed Superintendents also need to complete twenty hours of continuing education during the year.”
