County Supervisors ask for help to get cell phone service

CENTER — Knox County Supervisors continue to be concerned about the lack of cellphone service in Center and the surrounding area.
Board members took action during the October 12 Knox County meeting to pass a resolution stating the need to have cellphone service.
A high volume of business is conducted at the Knox County Courthouse and at the Nebraska Health and Human Services branch office that is located in Center.
The Knox County fire departments and law enforcement rely on cell service for 911 notifications. The University of Neb. Extension Service is also located in Center. Driver licenses exams are given at the Courthouse each week. It is also difficult for veterans who want to use their cellphones to contact the Veteran Service Officer.
