Construction to begin on library next month

WAUSA — The groundbreaking for the new Lied Lincoln Township Library was held on a beautiful spring day in April. Now committee members are looking forward to construction beginning. Plans have been made and approved, bids are in, and construction will begin the end of June. Floor plans for the new library can be viewed at the Commercial State Bank (see Jane Wilbeck), the Viking Lumber Company and at the Lied Lincoln Township Library.

The plans for the present library are to repurpose it into a community meeting room. Wausa does not have an easily accessible area to conduct local meetings, classes and gatherings. The present library, which has served Wausa so well as a library since 1935, will continue serving the people in another much-needed area.

Fundraising still continues, not only for the construction, but for the furnishing of the new library and for the renovation of the present library.

Donations can be given to Lyle Rorvik, Commercial State Bank; Judy Carlson, Chairman of the Foundation Committee; or brought to the library.

A library cookbook has been assembled and will be sold as a fundraiser for the library. It should be available for purchase just about the time the construction starts.
