The event is sponsored by Earl Norman American Legion Post 63, Roy Carlson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5824 and their Auxiliaries.
This year there are 279 graves and markers of veterans in the Wausa and Magnet communities. Crosses will be placed on the Veterans graves in cemeteries before the weekend.
Added since last year are the graves of Steve Anderson, Donald Wakeley and Charles Eldorado at the Woodlawn Cemetery; Clinton Landholm, Ronald Swanson, William Wiese and Richard Beaudette in the Thabor Lutheran Cemetery; Ralph Peters at Golgotha Lutheran Cemetery. If anyone knows of any others, please contact Larry Carlson or Mark Dawson immediately.
A concert by the Wausa High School and Junior High Bands, conducted by Mrs. Rachel Kleinschmit will open the event in the auditorium. After the Color Guard, children will enter with poppies to be placed at the crosses.
