Hartington Public School enjoys “Sweet Escape”

HARTINGTON — The week of Oct. 3-7 has been a “Sweet Escape” for students at Hartington Public School as they celebrate Homecoming 2011.
Homecoming candidates for 2011 include, King candidates: Nick Lammers, son of Duane Lammers and Joan Lammers; Josh Nelson, son of Ellis and Jean Nelson; Gabe Scoville, son of Lisa Scoville; and Adam Wortmann, son of Alan and Becky Wortmann.
Queen Candidates are: Whitney Driver, daughter of Brent Driver and Lila Driver; Jaimi Millage, daughter of Rich and Tricia Millage; Greer Olsen, daughter of Jeff and Sheila Olsen; and Megan Wolfe, daughter of Jeff and Carol Wolfe.
Junior attendants include, Ross Hegge, son of Jim and Dawn Hegge; Nick Miller, son of Doug and Cindy Miller; Anna Creekmore, daughter of Roy and LouAnn Creekmore; and Ashley Morten, daughter of Josh and Steph Morten.
Sophomore attendants include, Ty Dybdal, son of Larry and Krista Dybdal; Pat Wortmann, son of Randy  and Marla Wortmann; Shelby Eickhoff, daughter of Brennon and Wendy Eickhoff; and Sara Pinkelman, daughter of Randy and Vicky Pinkelman.
Freshmen attendants include, Tanner Fischer, son of Troy and Teresa Fischer; Kolby Jueden, son of Gerri Jueden and the late Galen Jueden; Shelby Hochstein, daughter of Kevin Hochstein and Kristi Hochstein; Ria Pedersen, daughter of Rich and Rita Pedersen; and Savannah Scoville, daughter of Lisa Scoville.
Junior Royalty is Riley Sudbeck, son of Doug and Rachelle Sudbeck, and Mani Lange, daughter of Ian and Rhea Lange.
Dress-up days for the week started on Monday with Skittles Day followed Tuesday with Twin Bing Day. Wednesday is Jolly Rancher/Nerds Day; Thursday,  Watchamacallit Day; and  Purple and White Day rounds out the week on Friday.
Coronation will take place at 7:30 p.m.,  Wednesday, in the school gym. On Friday, the Pep Rally will be held at 1:45 p.m., on the Elementary School playground, followed by the Parade through downtown Hartington, at 2:40 p.m.
The Wildcats will kick-off against the Randolph Cardinals at 7 p.m., with the week’s festivities coming to a close  with the traditional Homecoming Dance in the High School gym.
