Ord will be a tough State Tny. foe for Cedar

GRAND ISLAND — Cedar Catholic will face a tough foe when the sixth-seeded Lady Trojans take on the third-seeded Ord Chanticleers in State Tournament action Thursday.
“Just like any team at the state tournament, Ord is a good team,” Cedar Catholic Coach Adam Kuntz said. “They play in a tough conference, just like we do, so we know they are battle-tested.”
The game is slated for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at Hastings High School.

The winner of Thurday’s contest will face the winner of the  North Platte St. Patrick and Hastings St. Cecillia contest in semifinal round action.
Ord and Hastings St. Cecillia are both new to Class C2 after competing in Class C1 last year.
Ord defeated Burwell in five sets in last week’s District title game to advance to the State Tourney.
Cedar and Ord faced two common foes this season. Both teams earned wins over O’Neill and Boone Central.
Cedar will have to work hard and remember the things they’ve been working on in practice in order to have a chance against the tough northcentral Nebraska team.
“We are preparing ourselves for a hard-fought match. We want to be disciplined in our play and stick to a game plan. If we are all on the same page and play on the same page I think our team has the potential to be successful,” he said.
