Lady Devils will open Tny. against Falls City

LINCOLN —  Despite a 21-3 season record, the defending Class D2 state champion Wynot Lady Devils only earned the sixth seed in the State Tournament.
Wynot takes on third-seed Falls City Sacred Heart Thursday at 8:45 p.m. at Lincoln Southwest.

The Lady Irish have only compiled a 19-5 season record, but earned the higher seed because they amassed  45.5417 power points, while Wynot has 44.3462 power points.
Nine of Falls City’s 19 wins were over Class C2 schools, while the Irish also defeated one Class B school. The Irish defeated the 9-11 Elkhorn girls 36-35. However, only 12 of the 24 teams on FC Sacred Heart’s schedule finished the season with a winning record.
Wynot was penalized in the NSAA power points because they only played four Class C schools. The Lady Devils compiled a 2-2 record against them, however, their two losses came at the hands of two Class C2 state tournament teams — Luth Nigh NE and Crofton.
