Koch named to AP All State team

COLUMBUS — Cedar Catholic sophomore Chad Koch has picked up yet another post-season honor.
Earlier this month Koch was named First Team All State on the elite Omaha World Herald, Huskerland Prep Report and Lincoln Journal Star All State teams.
Koch made it four-for-four when the final All State team, the Associated Press Team, was announced this week.

Koch, a sophomore running back, made his first career varsity start against Ponca in August. When the season was completed, he had compiled a school record 1,836 rushing yards.
Several other Cedar Catholic athletes also made the Associated Press All State team as Honorable Mention picks.
Tim Wieseler, Tony Heine, Corey Kruse and Kyle Dump were named to the AP All State Honorable Mention team. All four also earned recognition by being named to the Lincoln Journal Star All State Honorable Mention Team.
Dump was also named to the Omaha World Herald and Huskerland Prep Report All State First Team as a defensive tackle.
Koch has a chance to do something that only four other Cedar athletes have done in the school’s history, repeat as a First Team All Stater.
