Cedar trio picks up post-season honors

HARTINGTON  — A trio of Cedar Catholic volleyball players has earned post-season honors from area coaches and state sportswriters.
Cedar Catholic juniors Lexi Steffen, Katelyn Dickes and Emily Schrempp were all named to the MidStates Conference All Conference First Team.
The trio also earned All State Honorable Mention status from the Lincoln Journal Star. The Omaha World Herald is yet to release its post-season honor team.

Steffen led the 23-9 Lady Trojans in kills this season with 284. Dickes was second in attacks with 207 kills on the year.
Schrempp set them both up, handing out 828 assists on the season. Schrempp was also a force on defense, going down for 243 digs on the year — second-best on the team. Libero Kallie Leise led the team in digs with 278. Dickes finished the year with 231 digs — third best on the team.
Steffen was also quite a force on defense for the Lady Trojans as she went up for a team-high 118 blocks. Dickes was second in blocks with 97.
