Bloomfield beats up on Wynot

BLOOMFIELD — The state-rated Bloomfield Bees swarmed all over Wynot on Thursday  as they rolled to a 52-14 dismantling of the Blue Devils.

The Bees would pile up 321 yards on the ground and their defense shut down the Blue Devil rushing offense limiting them to just nine yards. The Blue Devils did find some success through the air as they connected on 15-28  attempts for 185 yards.

Bloomfield got 110 yards rushing from Chet Boeckman and another 94 yards and three touchdowns from Alec Wilson to lead their offense. Jackson Sudbeck led Wynot as he completed 14 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown. Austin Wieseler was on the receiving end with seven catches for 88 yards and Davis Wieseler finished with six catches for 85 yards to contribute to the Blue Devils totals.

Scott Foxhoven anchored the Blue Devils defense with nine solo tackles and Austin and Davis Wieseler each finished with seven tackles. Davis also had an interception for Wynot.

It didn’t take Bloomfield long to get on the scoreboard. On their second play from scrimmage. Chet Beckman took an option keeper and scamper around the right side of the Blue Devils defense and outran the defender for a 49 yard scoring jaunt. The PAT run was not good and the Bees lead 6-0.

The Blue Devils would march the length of field on their second offense possession but the Bees defense would pick off an errant pass in the endzone to deny Wynot the scoring opportunity.

At the six-minute mark the Bee would cap a 65 yard drive as Cody Beckman knifed in from the 9 yard line for the score. Chet Beckman ran in the PAT and Bloomfield lead 14 -0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Bees offense would go into overdrive in the second quarter as they went on a 22-0 run to build a big halftime lead. First Alec Wilson bulled in from the 3 yards line for his second score of the night Then a 38 yard bomb from Chet Beckman to Wilson resulted in a second score. Late in the period Dylan Wilson dove in from the 3 yard line for the Bees final score before the half to push their lead to 36-0.

After the half the Blue Devils defense stiffened quit a bit. Davis Wieseler would end one of the Bees drive with his interception.

At the 5 minute the Bees would get a another interception by Chet Beckman and they would capitalize on the turnover. Alec Wilson would power in from the 3 yard line for the score. Beckman ran in the PAT and Bloomfield was cruising 44-0.

Wynot would mount a drive late in the third period. A 39 yard strike from Jackson Sudbeck to Davis Wieseler put the ball at the Bees one line yard line. Two plays later Sudbeck dove in from the ½ yard line for the score. The PAT was no good as Wynot trailed 44-6.

Bloomfield would open the fourth quarter with a good field position after recovering an attempted on side kick by the Blue Devils.  Four plays later Alec Wilson would pick up his third rushing touchdown of the night on a 15 yard sweep down the left side line for the score. Wilson also bulled in for the  PAT to push the Bees lead to 52-6.

Wynot would mount their final drive of night late in the fourth quarter. Jackson Sudbeck would hook up with Austin Wieseler with a 15 yard scoring strike over the middle for the score. Sudbeck then hit Nathan Wieseler in the left corner of the endzone for the PAT to make the final tally 52-14.
