Despite the loss, Lorenz, 28-4, will still be one of the favorites at next week’s State Tourney in Omaha.

Lorenz and Huss battled to a scoreless tie in the first period. Huss was close to earning the takedown, but Lorenz maneuvered his way out of it just before time expired.

Lorenz started the second period in the top position, but Huss managed to earn an escape to go up 1-0. Huss then worked his way to another takedown to take a 3-0 lead at the end of the second period.

Lorenz put his first points of the match on the board with an escape to make it 3-1. Huss then worked his way to yet another takedown which put Lorenz on his back. Huss earned back points for the move to go up 8-1. He then rode out the rest of the period to pick up the win.
