Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 53-135.01 that a liquor license may be automatically renewed for one year from May 1, 2016, for the following retail liquor licensee, to-wit:

DECEMBER 21, 2015
The regular meeting of the Wausa Board of Education was called to order by Darren Vanness at 8:09 p.m. Members present were: Darren Vanness, Mike Kumm, Terry Johnson, Brian Wakeley, Mark Dawson. Absent: Terry Nelson.
The motion was made by Mike Kumm and seconded by Terry Johnson to adopt the agenda.

Superintendent Marks reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. The motion was made by Mark Dawson and seconded by Mike Kumm to approve the November treasurer’s report as presented by Superintendent Marks.

Terry Nelson arrived at 8:20 p.m.
Superintendent Marks reviewed claims. The motion was made by Mike Kumm and seconded by Terry Johnson to approve the November claims as presented by Superintendent Marks.

The activities expenditure/receipts report was presented by Superintendent Marks.
Mr. Hoesing, presented Mr. Conn’s student activities report for the month. Congratulations to the Wausa Play Production cast, crew, support crew, and directors on your 9th state title! The boys and girls basketball teams are in full swing right up until the Christmas break. The girls at this point are 3-2 and the boys 0-5. The vocal and instrumental department has been very busy during the past month with the conference vocal clinic held on Monday, November 9th followed by the Christmas programs in December.
Mr. Hoesing presented his principal’s report. The Elementary Students conducted their annual Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 11th at the high school Gym. Mr. Conn put on his annual financial aid night on December 14th in the high school library. Staff will return on January 4th for an in-service with Bloomfield and Niobrara @ Bloomfield. Students will return on January 5th.
Mr. Marks gave his superintendent’s report. January 18, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. will be a special meeting for reorganization of offices and committees. He advised the board about the need of replacing the 1998 bus. Discussion was held on the action items and re-filing for school board.
The motion was made by Mike Kumm and seconded by Terry Nelson to go into executive session at 9:15 p.m. for discussion on personnel.

The board exited executive session at 9:21 p.m.
The motion was made by Terry Nelson and seconded by Mike Kumm to approve the 2014-15 audit as produced by Danna Cole and Associates.

The motion was made by Mike Kumm and seconded by Brian Wakeley to approve replacing the existing steam boiler in the old high school with 2 smaller energy efficient steam boiler as presented by Rasmussen Mechanical at a cost of $148,865.

The bid of $91,883 in regards to tuck pointing the old high school building, repairing voids, cracks and eroding mortar and caulking as needed died as there were no motions made.  
The motion was made by Terry Nelson and seconded by Terry Johnson to approve the negotiations settlement as agreed upon between the Wausa Education Association and the Board of Education for the 2016-17 school year.

The motion was made by Mike Kumm and seconded by Terry Nelson to approve extending a contract for Superintendent and grade 9 to grade 12 principal to Bradley Hoesing for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 years, effective July 1, 2016 as presented by school attorney Rex Schultze of the Greg Perry Law firm. The proposed contract will supersede all prior employment agreements between Wausa Public Schools and Mr. Hoesing.

The next meeting of the Board of Education will be January 18, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. beginning with a Special Meeting for Reorganization of Board offices and committees followed by the regular Board of Education meeting.
