Public invited to attend school eclipse activities

OSMOND — During the Monday, Aug. 14, District 42R school board meeting, Superintendent Dave Hamm announced that the public is invited to participate in the events which will take place at the school on Monday, Aug. 21, during the solar eclipse. The district has approximately 250 sunglasses available and has a number of activities planned, with the public invited to join the students around noon that day.

Counselor Jane Brummels gave a report on student assessments, which included the testing that will be done this year, changes in the state assessment system and changes in how data will be accessed. Brummels advised that there are six seniors enrolled in the Fridays at Northeast program this year, with nine or 10 interested in doing internships this fall. She also reported on the Student Learning Teams, which are in their third year.
