New giving record set at Christmas Wishes fundraiser

OSMOND — During an evening with many bright spots, one of the brightest came when master of ceremonies Jim Schmit announced that a new record had been set for funds raised during the Christmas Wishes event on Sunday evening at the Osmond city auditorium.

Staged to help those less fortunate have a merrier Christmas, the event raised in excess of $17,000. The event was sponsored by Sons of the American Legion and featured a number of activities. Even Mother Nature cooperated — the evening was perfect with relatively warm temperatures and none of the blustery wind the area had experienced in recent days. Nearly 190 individuals turned out for the evening, which featured a Swiss steak dinner served by Tiger Tavern
