Violet Thorell

WAUSA — Funeral services for Violet Thorell, 97, Wausa, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Thabor Lutheran Church, Wausa. Pastor Carl Sirotzki will officiate, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery, Wausa.

Visitation will be Friday, 5-7 p.m., at the church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home, Wausa, is in charge of arrangements.

Violet died Jan. 8, 2018, at Wausa Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Violet Katheryn (Trautman) Thorell was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Grafton, to Adolph and Ada (Peters) Trautman. She graduated in 1937, from Magnet High School. Violet married Erwin Thorell Nov. 26, 1941, at Thabor Lutheran Church. Two children were born to them, Diana and Phillip.

Violet worked for many families in the area. She rocked the babies at Thabor Tots and made many prayer shawls. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and their families.

Violet is survived by her daughter and her husband, Diana and Adrian Frevert; daughter-in-law, Jean Thorell Holcomb, and her husband, Ralph; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marian Hendrickson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; son, Phillip; one sister and three brothers.
