COLERIDGE — Wilma Milander, 82, Coleridge, died July 13, 2011, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.
Visitation and a prayer service were July 17 at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, Coleridge, and continued Monday one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral Services were July 18 at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Burial was at the Coleridge City Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge.

Pallbearers were Adam Anderson, Justin Milander, Cameron Milander, Colin Milander, Craig Ebberson and Gerald Bobenmoyer.
Honorary pallbearers were Erica Ryan, Jackie Milander, Angela Anderson, Jennifer Anderson, Candi Anderson and Erin Myers.
Wilma Jean Milander was born April 26, 1929, in Wausa, to Henry and Mathilda (Meier) Pittet. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1946. Wilma married Donnie Duane Milander May 25, 1947, in Coleridge. They farmed in the Laurel and Dixon area until they moved to a farm west of Coleridge in 1961. She and Donnie hosted several Foreign Exchange students over the years and also hosted pheasant hunters. Wilma helped Donnie with his seed corn business and grain bin business, acting as secretary and treasurer. She was a wonderful seamstress, sewing her own clothes, as well as for her four children.
Wilma participated in the state wool contest for many years. She was a former 4-H leader for over 25 years and was active in her extension club, the Dryland Daisies. Wilma always had a big flower and vegetable garden in which she canned and froze her produce. She loved to cook and bake. Wilma was a Nebraska State Fair award winner for her Raspberry/Rhubarb pie. Wilma was on a bowling team and would travel to the National Bowling tournament quite often. She was an avid Huskers fan. Wilma and Donnie loved to travel and saw many places across the world.
Wilma Jean is survived by her four children and their spouses, Kathy and Bill Owens, Omaha; Doug and Gail Milander, Hartington; Dennis and Jeanie Milander, Italy, Texas; and Jean and Randy Anderson, South Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria and husband, Gene Olson, Omaha; one step-sister, Laura Ann Landberg, Grand Island; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donnie, Oct. 13, 2010, at the age of 81; infant son, Dudley Jon; granddaughter, Nicole Jean Anderson; and step-mother, Vervie Pittet.
