OMAHA — Wilfred Hugo Becker, 76, Omaha, died March 1, 2011, at Douglas County Health Center, Omaha.
There will be a visitation March 11, from 2-8 p.m., with the family present from 6-8p.m., and a rosary at 6:30 p.m., at the Crosby Colonial Chapel, Omaha.
There will also be a visitation one hour prior to services Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be March 12, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington, with Military Services provided by Hartington VFW Post 5283.
Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, is in charge of arrangements.


Bill was born July 17, 1934, in Yankton, S.D., to Marcus John Becker and Mary (Paltz) Becker, and grew up in St. Helena. He was drafted and served two years, 1957-1958, in the United States Army in Oahu, Hawaii, at Schofield Barracks. He married Sharon June Dougherty Aug. 11, 1962, in Hartington. Bill retired from Omaha Public Power District in 1994 after working as a lineman for 35 years.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by daughter, Susan Becker Mundie, and her husband, R. Bruce, Virginia, and their daughter, Kathleen; and son, John Becker, and his wife, Amy Reichstadt Becker, Omaha, and their children, Benjamin and Elizabeth; and siblings and in-laws, Renee Brosnihan, Germaine Becker, Rita Vornhagen, Florenze and Charlene Becker, Rosemarie Paulsen, Charles and Genevieve Schulte, and Alan and Charlotte Wiebelbaus.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sharon; his parents; his brother, Donald Becker; his sister, Mercedes Hoebelheinrich; and brothers-in-law, Ray Vornhagen, Orville Paulson and Thomas Brosnihan.
