Obituary – Shaelaine Justice Sothan

BELDEN — Shaelaine Justice Sothan, 18, Belden, was born to Dennis and Connie (Cook) Sothan, July 13, 1993, in Norfolk, and died at 4 a.m., Nov. 25, 2011, at her home in Belden.
Visitation was Nov. 28 at Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.
Funeral Services were Nov. 29 at Union Presbyterian Church, Belden, with Rev. Derrick Fallon, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph, officiating.
Interment was in Belden Cemetery, Belden.

Pallbearers were Mark Carlson, Andy Caskey and Shannon Arduser.
Honorary pallbearers were Shaelaine’s classmates, the Randolph High School Class of 2012.
Shaelaine lived in Pierce until she was almost six years old, but began her education at the Randolph Elementary School and currently was a senior at Randolph High School with the Class of 2012. Shaelaine was a Randolph Cardinal and proudly received The Cardinal Spirit Award Sept. 23, 2011, at the Homecoming Football Game. Shaelaine inspired everyone she met with her courage and perseverance. She proudly lived by her own rules. She loved her cats and animals of all kinds. She treasured the time she spent hanging out with her devoted friends and her loving family. She was an avid reader and cherished the “Twilight” series most of all.
Shaelaine was a Girl Scout and participated in the Randolph High School Choir.
Shaelaine is survived by her parents, Dennis and Connie Sothan, Belden; her sister, Jennifer Sothan, Norfolk; and her brother, Christian Sothan, Belden; her maternal grandmother, Loretta Cook, Belden; paternal grandmother, Sandy Sothan, Stanton; many aunts, uncles, cousins; her doctors and nurses in Omaha; and friends and classmates in the Class of 2012, who will be her honorary pallbearers.
Shaelaine was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Clyde Cook and Don Sothan; and her beloved friend, Skyra.
