Obituary – Rose Burbach

ST. HELENA — Rose M. Burbach, 97, St. Helena, died Aug. 9, 2008, at the Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, S.D.
Visitation and a vigil service were at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, Yankton, S.D., and resumed one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial was Aug. 12 at Holy Family (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church, St. Helena, with Rev. Michael Keating officiating.
Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, St. Helena.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Becker, Joe Boehmer, Lyle Burbach, Rick Burbach, LaVerle Heimes, Reinold Klug, Roman Suing and Joe Wieseler.
Rose was born Jan. 25, 191,1 in St. Helena, to Joseph and Theresia (Schmucker) Boehmer. She married Clarence “Shorty” Burbach Jan. 10, 1938.  They farmed and raised cattle in the St. Helena area until 1964 and later retired and moved to South Yankton.  Clarence died March 14, 1983.  In 2001, Rose moved into Pine Lane Assisted Living and then became a resident of Avera Sister James Care Center in 2003.
Rose was a member of Holy Family (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church.
She enjoyed her many friends and family members.
Rose is survived by one sister, Teresa Heimes, Hartington, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; and six sisters, Katherine Boehmer, Josephine Becker, Lucina Becker, Margaret Boehmer, Mary Suing and Veronica Klug.
