Obituary – Ron Leise

HARTINGTON  — Ronald F. Leise, 72, Hartington, died Nov. 26, 2007, at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D.
Visitation was Nov. 28 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and resumed one hour prior to the service at the Church Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 29 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Rev. John Pietramale officiating.


Burial was in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Dick Steffen, Steve Leise, Bill Meyer, Bob Urbanski, Jim Eickhoff and Al Heimes.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Ronnie was born Oct. 21, 1935, at Hartington, to August J. and Mary S. (Eickhoff) Leise. He grew up and lived all of his life on a farm two miles east of Hartington. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1953. He married Wilma Jean Schrempp June 14, 1958, at Hartington.
Ronnie farmed and worked for Gerry Miller Implement for nearly 30 years.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and had a perpetual hour of adoration. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed watching all sporting activities, playing cards, traveling, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Leise, Hartington; four children and their spouses, Kathy and Ernie May Jr., Papillion; Brenda Leise, Papillion; Craig and Ann Leise, Papillion; and Kristin Thompson, Durant, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Margaret Leise, Omaha, and Robert and Helen Leise, Tulsa, Okla.; and two sisters, Rita Ann Diebel, Aurora, Colo., and Marge and husband, Gerry Miller, Hartington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Carol Leise.
