Obituary – Robert H. Henrickson

STANTON — Robert H. Henrickson, 83, Stanton, died Nov. 1, 2011, at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk.
Visitation was Nov. 3 at Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary – Stanton.
Funeral services were Nov. 4 at the Evangelical Free Church, Stanton, with Rev. Alvin Foote officiating.
Interment was at the Stanton Cemetery, Stanton, with Military Rites by Stanton V.F.W. Post #3602 and American Legion Post #88.

Pallbearers were Mike Unger, Andy Scholting, John Hekrdle, Tony Risolio, Dennis Kment, Philip Eckstrom, Brad Schaller and Warren Wiborg.
Robert was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Magnet, to Arthur and Eva (Dawson) Henrickson. He was a 1945 graduate of Magnet High School and attended Wayne State College in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 22, 1948-Sept. 22, 1951, serving at the end of World War II and then recalled to serve during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. He married Georgiann Webster Dec. 23, 1950, at the Cedar County Courthouse, Hartington, while Robert was on leave from serving in the military. After completing military service, he returned to Magnet and worked with his father and brother operating the lumberyard. In 1972, purchased Greenslit Lumber, Stanton, operating it until 1997, when he retired.
Robert’s hobbies included fishing, hunting and playing with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Stanton Evangelical Free Church, a 37-year member of Stanton Rescue Unit; and Past President and member of the Stanton Health Center Board of Directors. He was honored in 1996 by Nebraska’s First Lady, Diane Nelson, as outstanding community volunteer, being nominated by Stanton Health Center Administrator Bill Harris.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgiann Henrickson, Stanton; one son and wife, Scott and JoAnn Henrickson, Stanton; one daughter, Toni Brahmer, Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Danielle and Sean Lenser, Stanton; Aaron Henrickson and Eric Henrickson, Stanton; Tiffany Henrickson, Randolph; Amber and John Doughty, Norfolk; Brigit Brahmer and Cory Brahmer, Norfolk; and four great-grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Matthew Henrickson; one granddaughter, Heather Henrickson; son-in-law, Rick Brahmer; three sisters and one brother.
