Obituary – Neva Pearson

Scottsdale Ariz.— Neva Pearson, 76, Scottsdale, Ariz., died Feb. 25, 2012, with her loving family by her side.
A memorial tribute will be held at 4 p.m., March 4, at Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix.

Neva was born Sept. 12, 1935, to Oliver and Esther Dempster in Orchard. She spent her childhood on the family farm near Orchard, attending Pleasant Valley Country School and Orchard High School. She earned her teaching degree at Wayne State College, Wayne, and her B.A. in education from Yankton College, Yankton, S.D. She married Dean Pearson, Concord, in 1955. She was a kindergarten and elementary school music teacher at Hartington Public School, Hartington, for 18 years. After she and Dean moved to Arizona in 1979, she worked in the Chief Clerk’s office of the Arizona House of Representatives, retiring in 1998.
Neva was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She had an infectious laugh and great zest for life. She inspired and touched the lives of all who knew her. She gave her family great comfort and strength.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Pearson; their children and spouses, Ricky and Robin Pearson, Christen and Robert LaDeaux, Monte and Lori Pearson, Craig Pearson, and Cyndi Pearson; grandchildren, Alana (James) Haffner, Patrick (Wendy) Pearson, James (April) Pearson, Abby Pearson, Anna (Tony) Novack, Adam Pearson; and great-grandchildren Tre Haffner, Morgan Haffner, Christian Haffner, Ashlynn Pearson, Paige Pearson, Gabriella Pearson, Kobe Pearson, Conner Pearson and Ryder Novack; her sister and husband, Shirley and Clifford Erb; brother and wife, Duard and Lois Dempster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
