Obituary – Mildred Schrieber

Coleridge — Mildred Schrieber, 84, Coleridge, died Aug. 24, 2008, at Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge.
Visitation and a prayer service were Aug. 26 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
Funeral Services will be Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with the Rev. Andreas Stein officiating.
Burial will be at the Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge.
Pallbearers will be Zachary, Nicholas, Luke, Steven, Randall, Glen and David Schrieber.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kristen, Mark, Elizabeth, Sarah, David and Michael Schrieber.
Mildred Schrieber was born Feb. 27, 1924, to Carl F. and Freida K. (Bartling) Janssen. She grew up in Coleridge, graduated from Coleridge High School, and earned her teaching certificate from Wayne State College. She married Raymond Richard Schrieber June 3, 1948, in Coleridge. Mildred taught elementary school in Orchard, Allen, and in Columbus. After Raymond died in April 1971 at the age of 51 years, she continued to teach in Columbus prior to moving back to Coleridge. Mildred went back to college and received her degree in elementary education in 1973 from Wayne State College.
Mildred had been a resident of Park View Haven Nursing Home since March 8, 2000.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was involved in many activities at the church and the nursing home. She loved small children, loved to teach, was an avid card player and always had a good sense of humor.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Randall R. and Joanne M. Schrieber, Cary, N.C.; Glen A. and Karen Schrieber, Jacksonville, Fla.; David A. and Sue Schrieber, Eugene, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Gordon and his wife, Wanita Janssen, Coleridge.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; infant son, Richard Raymond; grandson, Gregory; and one brother, Warren Janssen.
