Obituary – Marietta D. Thunker

RANDOLPH — Marietta D. Thunker, 48, Randolph, died Feb. 19, 2012, at Colonial Manor, Randolph.

Visitation will be 3 – 8 p.m., Feb. 22, with a 6:15 p.m. Rosary, all at Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Feb. 23, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph, with Rev. Michael J. Swanton officiating.

Interment will be at St. Frances Cemetery, Randolph.

Pallbearers will be Larry Lackas, Bill Fye, Jerry Synovec, Randy Gubbels, John Gubbels and Nick Gubbels.

Marietta was born June 21, 1963, at Norfolk, to Ronald and Elizabeth ( Dreismeier) Thunker. She was a 1981 graduate of Norfolk High School, Norfolk, and graduated from Northeast Community College, Norfolk, in 1986 with an associate’s degree in data processing.

She was employed at Dale Electronics in Norfolk; Kolterman Farm Equipment in Pierce; Nebraska Appliance Center, Norfolk; was a dispatcher at Cedar County Sheriff’s Office, Hartington; worked at Dunham’s School Bus Services, South Sioux City; worked as a Bus Driver/Janitor at Laurel Public School and Randolph Public School as a Bus Driver; and was employed at Jim’s Food Center in Randolph.

She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph.

She enjoyed raising dogs, exotic pets, horses and riding her motorcycle.

Marietta is survived by her three children, Beth and husband, Josh Legate, St. Joseph, Mo.; Kyle Thunker, Grand Island; Ryan and wife, Kara Thunker, Doniphan; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis and Angie Thunker, McLaughlin, S.D.; Paul Thunker and Janet Hanson, Norfolk; and Richard Larsen of Randolph.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
