WAUSA — Lowell DeMar Johnson, 78, Wausa, died July 18, 2011, at his home in Wausa.
Visitation was July 22 at Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.
Funeral services were July 23 at the McLean Auditorium, McLean, with Derek Felch officiating.
Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wausa, with Military Rites by V.F.W. Post #5824, Wausa.

Lowell, the son of Melvin and Erma (Hunter) Johnson, was born March 31, 1933, on his parents’ farm near McLean. He grew up on the same farm, attending Sunny Side Country School and graduating from McLean High School. Lowell went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957. He returned to the family farm where he farmed with his father and brother, Delmar. He bought the local lumberyard in the early 1980s and continued to manage Johnson Lumber and Grain Systems until 2004.
He was currently serving on the Wausa Township Board, on which he served from May 4, 1987-June 4, 1990 and Dec. 1, 2008, to present time. He was a longtime member of the Norfolk Antique Car Club as well.
Lowell leaves behind his sister, Juanita Felch and husband, Dick, Prior Lake, Minn.;, a niece, Rachel Felch, Brainerd, Minn.; a nephew, Derek Felch and wife, Robin, Lawrence, Kan.; two great-nieces, Maggie and Myka; two great-nephews, Nathan and Hunter; and sister-in-law, Carle’ Johnson, Wausa; as well as much extended family and many friends.
