Obituary – Lloyd Straight

WAYNE — Lloyd Howard Straight, 78, Wayne, died July 23, 2008, at Providence Medical Center, Wayne.
Visitation, with a Masonic Service, was July 25 at First Presbyterian Church, Wayne.
Funeral Services were July 26 at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Ray McCalla officiating.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Wayne.

Honorary pallbearers were Cornell Runestadt, Sid Hillier, John and Anita Fuelberth, Don and Sue Larsen, Don and Judy Koenig, and Kent and Cindy Franzen.
Active Pallbearers were Lloyd and Pat’s nephews, Chip Hamilton, Ted Hamilton, Rus Hamilton, Buz Hamilton, Steve Hamilton, Tom Striaght, Scott Straight and Jim Craun.
Lloyd Howard Straight was born May 23, 1930, at Wayne, to Tully and Hattie Mae (Young) Straight. He married Pat Hook June 21, 1952, at First Presbyterian Church, Wayne. Lloyd served in the United States Army from March 27, 1953-Feb. 23, 1955. The couple farmed near Sholes, until moving to their farm north of Wayne in 1964. Lloyd was an active farmer and cattle feeder until retiring in 2001.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wayne, serving as an Elder; a 32nd Degree Mason and 50-year member of Wayne Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. 120 and served as Past Master Mason, Wayne and Winside. He was also a member of Cornhusker Shrine, Sioux City, Iowa; Scottish Rites; V.F.W. Post #5291; and American Legion Post #43.
He enjoyed golfing, traveling, his family, and especially following the grandchildren’s activities.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Pat; three sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren; Doug and Jenise Straight, Shickly, and grandsons, Conley and Cody; Rick and Laura Straight, Wayne, and granddaughter, Katie and David Gangwish, and great-granddaughter, Karrigan; Donald and Tammy Straight, Lincoln, and grandsons, Justen and Jordan; two sisters and husbands, Verna Mae and Duane Creamer and Virginia and Marvin Dranselka, all of Wayne; many close nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Kyle in 2002; and two brothers, Tully Jr. and wife Evelyn; and Wayne and wife, Nell.
