Obituary – Kenneth William Depledge

RANDOLPH, N.Y. — Kenneth William Depledge, 81, Randolph, died Oct. 2, 2011, in the home of his wife, Cheryl Freer Depledge,  Ischua.
Burial will be in the Fluvanna Cemetery, Jamestown, N.Y.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Van-Renselaer and Son Funeral Home, Randolph.

Kenneth was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Fredonia, N.Y., to Kenneth Ellis and Doris Billstone Depledge. He was a 1947 graduate of Cassadaga High School. Ken retired from Jamestown Container as a machinist, he was also a musician and song writer and a former employee of Dahlstrom’s manufacturing, Jamestown, and Pepsi-Cola in Florida.
A talented musician, Ken was a lead guitarist with Maurice Brown and the Mountain Railroad Band at the Depot in Ellington for 16 years and also with the Gospel Rags Band.
Ken was a Calvinist and lover of books, so much so that he had his own online bookstore.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, Ischua, N.Y.; two sons: Scott  and Julie Depledge, Hartington; and Darren  and Tina Depledge, Mulberry, Fla.; two daughters and spouses, Zoanne and Richard Shields, Sinclairville, N.Y., and Mary and Dan Seastrom, Ellery Center, N.Y.; several step children and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister; Joanne and Ralph Devillers.
