Obituary – Bonnie J. Munter

WAYNE — Bonnie J. Munter, 82, Wayne, died March 14, 2011, at Providence Medical Center, Wayne.
Visitation was March 16 at Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.
Funeral services were March 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph, with Rev. Derrick Fallon officiating.
There were private graveside services at the Hartington Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bonnie’s grandsons, Tyler Munter, Travis Munter, Nathan Munter, Josh Swan, Kyle Heiss, Russell Stanislav, Lucas Munter, Adam Munter, Jerad Heithold, Trevor Swan and Walker Swan.
Bonnie was born Dec. 4, 1928, at Randolph, to William and Emma (Eggars) Poyar. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1946. She married Dick Munter Feb. 6, 1949 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph. The couple farmed northeast of Randolph until 1969 when they moved to a farm in Wayne County. They farmed until 1977 when they moved into Winside. Bonnie worked at secretarial jobs in the Wayne area until 1993 when she began as Manager of Sports Club Motel, Wayne.
Bonnie enjoyed people’s company and looked forward to playing cards with her friend, Dorothy, and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Randolph.
Bonnie is survived by her five children, Terry Munter, Vermillion, S.D.; Barb Swan, Norfolk; Jerry and wife, Terri Munter, Wayne; Gary and wife, Lori Munter, Amelia; and Beverly Munter, Laurel; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Ronnie Garrod, Sioux City, Iowa, and Randy Garrod, Phoenix, Ariz.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick, in 1998; and one sister, Bernice Garrod.
