Obituary – Betty H. McCoy

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Betty J. McCoy, 86, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Nov. 15, 2011, at a local nursing facility.
Services were held Nov. 18 at The Church Of The Nativity, with the Rev. Steven McLoud as celebrant.
Entombment was in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation and a vigil service were held at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, Sioux City.

Betty was born June 6, 1925, in rural Coleridge, to Eugene and Mary (Dresden) Peck. Following her graduation from Coleridge High School is 1943, Betty attended Wayne State College prior to her marriage.
She married Ray McCoy April 24, 1944, in Hartington. The couple farmed in Nebraska before moving to Sioux City in March 1957.
Betty worked at the Zenith factory until its closing and retired from Aalf’s Manufacturing.
She enjoyed traveling during her retirement.
Betty enjoyed her membership at The Church Of The Nativity, Sioux City.
Betty is survived by her sons, Ray McCoy, Jr., and his wife, Judy, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and Pat McCoy,Worthington, Minn.; grandchildren, Alicia Claycomb and her husband, David; Sara Davis and her husband, Chad; and Adam McCoy and his wife, Cari; four great-grandchildren; brother, Don Peck, Coleridge; sister, Ruby Hansen, Coleridge; brother, Francis Peck, Newport, R.I.; and sister, Pearl Frankenfield, El Paso, Texas.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray, in 1994; daughter, Jackie Wiedenfeld; and grandson, Dan P. McCoy.
Memorials may be offered to Hospice of Siouxland in Betty’s name.
