Annabelle M. Haahr

HARTINGTON — Annabelle M. Haahr, 91, Hartington, died Dec. 19, 2017, at the Hartington Rehabilitation and Care Center, Hartington.

Visitation will be Dec. 27, from 5-7 p.m., at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Visitation will continue Thursday, one hour prior to services.

Funeral Services will be Dec. 28, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Amanda Talley officiating.

Burial will be at the Paragon Cemetery, rural Hartington.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Nathan Haahr, Justin Haahr, Jason Haahr, Kyle Haahr, BJ Verzani, Marcus Fischer, Issac Haahr, Adam Haahr and Aaron Haahr.

Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.

Annabelle Mae Haahr was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Wayne, to George M. and Neva I. (Fleming) Fox Sr. Annabelle grew up in the Hartington area and graduated from Hartington Public High School in 1943. She married Wendell Haahr Sept. 18, 1947, in Hartington. Annabelle worked for the Bank of Hartington and at the Courthouse. She also worked for Gurney’s Seed and Nursery, Neu Cheese Company and at the Senior Center. Annabelle helped part-time with the Hartington High School lunch program and at Shortie’s Pizza. She was an accomplished sewer and did alterations for Globe Clothing. Annabelle and Wendell were overseer’s of the Trinity Lutheran Church Fair stand for a number of years. She also made and quilted several quilts, some of which she showed at the Cedar County Fair.

Annabelle was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and its sewing group, WELCA, and was a former 4-H participant and leader. She also was a member of the Hartington VFW Auxiliary.

Annabelle is survived by her six children and spouses, Linda and Dennis Fischer of South Sioux City; Cheryl Schultz, Dakota City; Roger and Shirley Haahr, Laurel; George Haahr, Hartington; Debra & Mondo Garcia, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Sharon Haahr, Sunnyville, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; one step grandson; 35 great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and sister-in-law, Virginia Fox, Coleridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Neva Fox Sr.; husband, Wendell April 13, 2007, at the age of 86; a brother, George Fox Jr.; infant grandson, Larry Fischer; son-in-law ,Victor Schultz.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to Paragon Cemetery.
