Bears bring home medals as host of conference meet

LAUREL — The LCC track and field teams earned six medals as they played host to the Lewis & Clark Conference meet Saturday at Haskell Field. Erica Wolfgram had a hand in three of the Lady Bears’ five medals on the day, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the high jump with a best mark of 4 feet, 10 inches. She also placed eighth in the long jump at 14-2 1/2 and joined Vanessa Vance, Makayla Forsberg and Megan Forsberg on the 400-meter relay team that finished fifth.

Vance also medaled as an individual, taking eighth in the 100-meter dash, while Sydney Chapman earned a seventh-place medal in the girls shot put. The LCC boys had just one medal on the day, coming in the 3200-meter relay as the tandem of Landen Boysen, Michael Kurtzhals, Sean Aschoff and Ryan Bathke posted a sixth-place time of 9:43.87
