Lady Bears put two in the win column

RANDOLPH —The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bears were one shot away from a 3-0 weekend this past week, losing in the closing seconds at Randolph on Saturday. The Lady Bears started the week with a 47-44 win at Homer. LCC trailed going to the fourth quarter, but outscored the Lady Knights 12-7 in the final period to come away with the win. Lorna Maxon led a balanced attack with 14 points while Bethany Kardell added 11 and Makayla Forsberg put in nine. Also scoring were Sydney Chapman with six, Bryn Schutte with five and Madisyn Hall with two.

Schutte and Maxon each had eight rebounds to lead the defense while Forsberg grabbed seven boards and Chapman had five. Maxon led the team with seven steals and three assists. On Friday, the Lady Bears hosted Emerson-Hubbard and came away with their second win of the season, posting a 45-33 win over the Lady Pirates.
