Schmit is part of pilgramage to Lourdes, France

OSMOND — Randolph Times office manager Jackie Schmit  and her dad, Dan Schmit, both of Osmond, went on a Special Needs Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, June 18-25.
They traveled with Our Lady of Lourdes, North American Volunteers.
Ray Gubbels and Marvin Stech, both of Osmond, were also part of the volunteer group. In all, there were 12 Nebraskans on the trek.
This is an account of the pilgrimage as written by Jackie.
The level of excitement was high Saturday, June 17, as my dad and I got packed for our trip to Europe. Unlike all four of my sisters, I had never been overseas and was looking forward to experiencing it.
We had to be at the airport in Omaha very early Sunday morning, so we opted to stay with my sister in Ashland overnight. Because of the pain I was having, the flights were long and sleepless. Our Sunday and Monday ran together as we went from airport to airport and finally boarded a bus to our final destination, Lourdes, France.
