Randolph water, sewer rates could go up

RANDOLPH — The need to raise water and sewer rates was one of the main topics at the Randolph City Council meeting Jan 4.
Board members listened to the results of the study that had been done on the water and sewer rates for Randolph.
Randy Hellbusch, Circuit Rider for Nebraska Rural Water Association, presented information on the city expenses associated with water and sewer along with funds brought in from monthly rates paid by users.
A loss was shown when the total expense for the city’s sewer was compared to sewer sales. A loss was also shown in the study done on expenses and sales of water for Randolph.
