Randolph city leaders plan retreat

RANDOLPH — Plans are being put in place for a Randolph City Council and Planning Commission Retreat.
The joint retreat has been scheduled for 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Feb. 20, and will be held at the City Library, according to Community Development Director Gary Van Meter.
“This will be our third retreat,” Van Meter said. “I will be contacting each participant to ask for suggestions on discussion topics.”
The retreat is designed to inform council members about issues involving municipal government and how area communities are approaching these issues.
The upcoming retreat will initiate and prioritize projects for the new year, according to Van Meter.
The abatement of the flood plain has been the number one issue over the past two years.
“I suspect with the progress made in 2016, it will be at the top of the list again for 2017,” Van Meter said.
