Flood Plain project is moving ahead

RANDOLPH — Craig Bartels, Cedar County Commissioner, and Brad Albers, Pierce County Commissioner, sat in on Randolph’s July 5 City Council meeting.
A bridge located west of Randolph on the Cedar-Pierce County line is one of the bridges that will need to be replaced to remove Randolph from the FloodPlain.
The estimated cost for the bridge replacement is $240,000, which would be shared equally by the two counties.
Cedar County and Pierce County Commissioners had previously been asked if they would assist with the project since the bridge is located on a county road.
Albers said the bridge, which was built in the late 70s or early 80s, is located in his district.
