Primary election deadlines are nearing

HARTINGTON — The Primary Election is now less than two weeks away, and candidates and state and county election officials are gearing up for the big day.

To help area voters prepare for their time in the voting booth, sample ballots are being printed in this week’s Coleridge Blade.

Several important deadlines are coming up.

• May 2 — Last day for in person voter registration. County election offices will remain open until 6 p.m.

• May 7 — Last day county election officials can receive an application for early voting ballot(s) to be mailed to a specific address

• May 12 — Last day for early voting in-person at the county clerk’s office.

The polls will open on May 13  at 8 a.m. and will stay open until 8 p.m. Anyone who has not returned an early voting ballot must do so in person at the County clerk’s office prior to the closing of the polls on May 13.

On June 9 the Board of State Canvassers meets to certify all election results.
