Elkhorn Valley Triangular
TILDEN — The Osmond wrestlers competed at the Elkhorn Valley triangular on Thursday, Jan. 5.  Teams competing were Osmond, Elkhorn Valley and Clearwater-Orchard.  The Tigers were defeated by Elkhorn Valley in the first dual by a score of 48 to 9 and were then defeated by Clearwater-Orchard by a score of 42 to 12.
“This is always a good meet to participate in,” commented Coach Larry McKenna. “Even though we know that with two kids we will not win either dual, both of our wrestlers get two matches against good competition.  Our goal coming into the match was to win all four of our matches, which we did.  Paul picked up a pin and decision while Colton won two matches by pin.  In Paul’s first match, he quickly got ahead with a takedown before falling behind 6-2 in the second period before coming back to score seven straight points to earn a 9-6 victory.  In his second match, Paul again got the first takedown before working toward a second-period pin.   Colton wrestled really well, scoring takedowns in both of his matches before securing a first-period pin in his first match and a second-period pin in his second match.  Overall, both kids had a really good meet.”
